Laying Tile
If you’re thinking about a new floor, you might want to consider laying tile. Some of the advantages of a tile floor are waterproofing, ease of cleaning up and maintenance, as well as durability and lasting a long time.
Some of the tools you’ll need if you’re thinking about installing a tile floor are a chalk line, a tile saw, a tile cutter, a trowel with the right size of notches, and a grout float.
The first part of a ceramic tile installation is floor prep. This is when you remove any existing flooring and get the subfloor clean and ready. If you’re subfloor is subpar, it’s a good idea to use a backer board underlayment which will give you a great surface to stick your tile on.
Think about how you want your floor to look when it’s done. Do you want straight or diagonal lines between the tiles?
